Review of "Beyond Words"
Music for Silencing the Mind, January 2, 2009 By Jarett Sabirsh (www.thetruthaboutfoodandhealth.com)
If you never thought rap or hip-hop could be meditative or highly
spiritual, you're in for a huge surprise.
For most people on the
spiritual path, new-age & spiritual music tends to be used as
background music for meditation, but while listening to Beyond Words
you'll quickly realize that the music IS the meditation. Because the
lyrics come out in rap form, they're fast, and your mind
will be 100% focused on them. Of course, this would be meaningless if the lyrics were of a negative nature. But Mt.
Sinai has spent 15 years studying and practicing , and the music is a reflection of that.
The moment the music is turned on, your mind will be drawn in and
effortlessly focused on the level of
consciousness/energy from which the music springs.
This is music for silencing the mind, and
leaving oneself behind. If you're into spirituality
you'll almost certainly enjoy this album...From a spiritual point of view, it can't be recommended highly enough.
Modern Escape Into Meditation, December 26, 2008
By Deanya Batista
A profound album, with lyrics that take the listener to a meditative state. The
setting is modern with an eastern twist. Hard to categorize, as it encompasses
so many genres, while maintaining its individuality.
Whether you've ever pondered Christianity, Buddhism, zen, Hinduism, or any
other religion, this cd is for you. It deals with the hardships of the day to
day, but maintains that life is essentially what you make it. Drawing on the
underlining theme in pretty much all religious and philosophical beliefs, he
demonstrates that we have the power to create our own happiness by controlling
our negative thoughts and actions.
The real beauty of this album is that it's accessible....some times complicated
philosophies, and religious ideas get passed up because they can be difficult
to understand, especially in regards to the youth, but Mt. Sinai clearly
expresses these ideas so everyone can understand them and use them to create a
happier, more enlightened life.
Listening to this album is a great way to spend your time....nodding your head
while contemplating the greater things in life.
This album doesn't get old, in fact the more you listen, the more it seems like
you've only begun listening; It has layers upon layers of things to relate to
and ponder without ever feeling overwhelmed...to the contrary, it frees the mind
to allow happiness to reign.
This really is a must have, especially at such a bargain price.
